Donald Wm. Jeffries is a veteran, writer, and lifelong student of history whose perspective has been shaped by decades of personal experience. His interest in history and politics grew even stronger after retirement, when he began recognizing connections between the past and the world around him.

Donald first discovered his enjoyment of writing while serving in the military, when he wrote letters home to family and friends. He was also deeply influenced by the “teaching stories” of his stepfather and his father’s memories of military life during World War II. These experiences inspired him to view history as something personal, made not only of events, but of real lives, choices, and paths taken or left behind.
